When looking for a new home near the beach, Southern California definitely has an advantage than other cities in California. Specifically speaking, Manhattan Beach California is my favorite beach city to live in. Sales are up in the last few months and the biggest comparison to note is the difference between the median sold price and the median list prices for properties.
The asking price and the actual sale price for homes and townhomes in Manhattan Beach differs dramatically in other regions. In Manhattan Beach the current media list price for homes in 2008 was $1,899,000 while the median sold price was $1,200,000. Depending on how you look at it, this is great for a long term buyer and resident and horrible for those properties owners who want to sell their homes and still make money.
